Southern Cal Kennels
Visiting Policy

Our kennel is in our home, so we are a closed kennel, we are not open to the general public, we do not allow people over to test their allergies, or to meet a goldendoodle.

If you have made a deposit and are buying one of our puppies, then you will be allowed to come over and meet your puppy, your puppy's litter mates, and your puppy's parents, on the day the puppies are ready for selection and pick up (at 8 weeks of age). Selection and pick up are all done on the same day (normally on weekends).

Each family getting a puppy will have 1 hour to spend here for choosing (if you think you need more time than 1 hour let us know). I do not schedule people at the same time, so each family will have their own uninterrupted time to be here. Appointments are set in order of deposit received, so first deposit has first pick, second deposit has second pick and so on.

If there are left over puppies still for sale after they turn 8 weeks, then we will post their individual pictures on the web site. Once puppies are 8 weeks old, we no longer accept deposits for them, they must be paid for in full and it's first come first serve, and in this case we will allow you to come over and meet the puppy or puppies in person without having to make a deposit first.

Other than the above exception we make for any left over pups that are not sold by the time they reach 8 weeks of age, if someone wants to meet our dogs and puppies or see the kennel before making a deposit, that is not possible and we do apology for the inconvenience.

We are always happy to provide references of other puppy buyer's that have been to our kennel, and to professional dog trainers that have been to our kennel. We guarantee that when you do arrive, that you will be 100% satisfied with what you see and with our dogs or we will refund your deposit!

You can even join us live on Facebook and meet some of our clients and their dogs from us, click here: Our Facebook Page

We do not under any circumstances show puppies that are under 8 weeks of age or their mothers. All puppies under the age of 8 weeks are under quarantine with their nursing mothers. The reason for this is because of how contagious parvo virus is. Parvo is a very deadly virus. It is shed by infected dogs via their feces, urine, or saliva, and it can live for months or even years, on surfaces such as dirt, concrete, grass, gravel, even inanimate objects like furniture. It can be carried on your shoes, clothing, car tires, etc... without you even knowing. This is the reason we limit the traffic to and from our kennel, for the protection of our puppies. Not to mention that we do get about 25 enquires a day, so you can imagine the foot traffic we would have if we allowed everyone to come over that would like to.

By the time our puppies reach 8 weeks of age they will have two parvo vaccinations, that is why we wait until they are 8 weeks old before allowing visitors. We vaccinate them at 5 weeks and 7 weeks of age.

We do ask that on the day of your visit, that you do not go to any pet stores on that day, please purchase your supplies at least a few days prior and make sure to clean all toys, leashes, bedding and dog crates with a solution of bleach. You can't imagine how many germs are at Petco and Petsmart or at any pet store for that matter! We also ask that you do not visit any other puppies, kennels, breeders, dog parks etc... on the day of your visit. We also ask that you please park outside of the chain link fence and do not pull into our drive way.

On the day of your visit, you will be asked to remove your shoes if your coming into the house, or you will be asked to step in bleach with your shoes on if you are coming into the back yard. You will also be asked to clean your hands with hand sanitizer. Please do not be offended, this is for the protection of your puppy and it's litter mates. While vaccines are effective, pups do not have full immunity until their last vaccination at 16 weeks of age.

Appointments are held on weekends, because most people work during the week. You will be notified of your appointment day and time at least 1 week prior, but by the time puppies are born we should know which day they will be released, according to their birth date.

If necessary we can board the puppy here for the buyer past the take home date, but then there would be additional boarding fees (unless another agreement was made ahead of time). If you can not come to select your puppy on the designated day and time, then your deposit will roll over to the next available puppy or litter of your choice, because it isn't fair to hold up the other people waiting to choose and take home their puppies. If you can't make it, then you also have the option of having us choose for you, a trainer choose for you, or you can choose by picture.

If you are out of state, or unable to come in person to select your puppy, then you may choose your puppy by picture, or you can have us choose for you, we have been known for choosing the perfect puppy for many people! Another option is having a professional trainer select for you. We have a trainer that can select for you and she only charges a minimal fee. Her name is Danielle Haffner and you will need to contact her directly to make arrangements. Her contact info is on the "Links" page. Even if your not out of state, she can accompany you and help you select your puppy.

If you are out of state, we would still give you an appointment time according to where you are on the wait list, just like we do for all the other people coming in person to select their puppies. During your appointment time we would email you pictures of the available puppies for you to choose from, or we would choose for you, or the trainer would choose.

Please make sure to read all of our other policies as well, like our deposit policy, payment policy, shipping policy, guarantee policy and re-home policy.
