Home Of The Original English Teddy Bear Goldendoodle!
If you're adopting a Goldendoodle based off of all the wonderful things you've read and heard about them, then make sure what you're adopting is REALLY a Goldendoodle, because not all Goldendoodles are AUTHENTIC.
The DOUBLE DOODLE is NOT a Goldendoodle, they're a cross between a Goldendoodle and Labradoodle. The mix has also been called North American Retriever and Golden Labradoodle.
The AUSTRALIAN GOLDENDOODLE is NOT an AUTHENTIC Goldendoodle, they're a cross between a Goldendoodle and Australian Labradoodle. They can also be a cross between a Golden Retriever and Australian Labradoodle. The Australian Labradoodle can be a mix of Labrador Retriever and Poodle, they can also be a mix of English and American Cocker Spaniel, Irish Water Spaniel, and Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. This means an Australian Goldendoodle can also be a mix of Golden Retriever, Labrador Retriever, Poodle, Irish Water Spaniel, Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, English and American Cocker Spaniel.
In the 14-year period of 2005 through 2018 canines killed 471 Americans!
Diplomat of the European College of Veterinary Behavioral Medicine Marta Amat says; "In our country and according to our database, the English Cocker Spaniel is the breed that shows more aggression problems." Amat is a researcher in the School of Veterinary Medicine at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, her and her colleagues analysed 1040 cases of canine aggression brought to a nearby veterinary teaching hospital.
Dog Trainer Michele Welton says; "Unfortunately behavioral consultants like myself see an awful lot of American Cocker Spaniels with neurotic behaviors, including nastiness. So you need to be very careful when buying or adopting a Cocker Spaniel. Welton is a Dog Trainer, Behavioral Consultant and Author of 15 Dog Books.
Dog Trainer Katie Bjorkman says; Terriers were bred to fearlessly pursue and attack wild game - often game larger and more dangerous than them like foxes or woodchucks. They are thus fearless and more than willing to happily jump in and start a tussle in most cases. Toward small animals like bunnies, Terriers are most certainly aggressive. This can rarely be eliminated with training - Labradors love to swim, Terriers love to kill rats and bunnies."
